Checking in with Charles
In July, I finished reading the biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. It's remarkable how much Apple founder Steve Jobs accomplished in his 56 years on earth. His early death in 2011 reminds me that life goes fast. This summer, my brother-in-law suddenly passed away. Loss of a loved one really brings home how each day is a gift, no matter what challenges the day brings.
This summer, I have been very busy with work - busier than usual, as it happens, by summer market standards. I have gone out of my way to make sure I am still present in the moment and not missing out on the miracles of everyday life. To feel the breeze on one's face or appreciate a glass of water or contemplate the infinity of the sky - the world is a wonder to behold.
