After twenty plus years as a real estate agent in Cambridge and Somerville, I can say with certainty that no two days are the same!

A recent Monday in my real estate life:

Up at 7 AM. Shower. Coffee. Boston Globe. Morning Brew. Readwise. Ready to go!

Time to answer emails from overnight.

Publishing my most recent real estate market report.

Off to Flour Cafe in Cambridgeport for a coffee to go.

Next stop: one of my active listings. Arriving early to prepare for the showing. Lights on. Shades up. Show!

After the showing, I stay on at the property for a telephone conversation with a staging company that I will begin working with soon. Getting organized.

Next up, I walk to another listing nearby to check in on it. The seller is out of of town. Checking that all is in order. And so it is!

Back in my car, I drive now to meet with a potential seller client at her property in Somerville. She gives me a tour and we talk about how to present the home for sale. Our time together in person is valuable.

Time for lunch and a few phone calls with buyer clients + opportunity to respond to various emails.

Working from home in the pandemic, I sit down at the kitchen table to complete my valuation analysis right away for the property just seen in Somerville. I email the seller thereafter. Following up right away is rewarding!

Texting then with both a reliable painter and my regular photographer who will both be working on a future listing in the works.

An offer arrives via email on one of my listings. Sent to seller. We connect briefly about it and decide to talk tomorrow at length.

Connecting with a client thereafter regarding an offer deadline coming up tomorrow. And with a different client regarding an extension.

Touching base with my team members and their work flow, including a new listing in the works and a closing scheduled for this week.

Gifted on a summer day with some late afternoon time to read. I am rereading the book Influence by Robert Cialdini, now out in a new edition (2021).

Looking ahead to tomorrow and the week ahead. Starting to think about my weekly YouTube video.

Out for a walk without inputs. Solitude. Time to think. Rain starts to fall. I head for home earlier than expected. One thing I know how to do: go with the flow.
