Buyer Success Story: Persistence

In the early spring, James and Blake began looking for a home with the Charles Cherney Team. Theirs was not the traditional search. To maximize buying power, they were on the hunt with two other couples in search of a multi-family in Somerville. These close friends were planning to each occupy a unit.

As weeks turned into months and with very limited inventory in their price range, the home search began to change shape. First, three couples dropped to two, and then the search area expanded to include Medford and Malden. Everyone continued to stay positive and never wavered in their desire to be homeowners.

Along came summer, and after another bidding war and a lot of thought, James and Blake decided they were now looking for a single-family home for their family. With a fondness for the outdoors and hiking, they set their sights on living either in Malden’s West End or North Medford. Both areas offered charming residential streets in close proximity to the Middlesex Fells Reservation, as well as accessibility to Cambridge and Boston.

After a few more weeks of open houses and much determination, they found themselves drawn to a charming home perched on a hill. The open house was crowded, so they knew their offer would need to be competitive.  As expected, there were multiple offers. I prepared a polished and complete offer package for them, and this time, James and Blake came out on top! I was thrilled to be able to deliver the news to them. After a home inspection and some careful negotiation thereafter with my guidance, they were ready to sign the purchase and sale.

James and Blake have now closed on their first home, and they are busy with projects making it their own. I look forward to staying in touch with them and being of service going forward. Home sweet home!
