The biggest change in my life since the pandemic kicked off in March 2020 is that I have been out walking a lot more.

I live outside of Inman Square in Cambridge. Recently, I have formed the habit of walking each morning bright and early from our house to Flour Cafe & Bakery in Cambridgeport.

I get a coffee there soon after Flour opens at 7 AM, and then my walk continues across the MIT campus to the banks of the Charles River.

It's springtime as I write this, which means there are boats on the river. This morning a number of crew teams were out rowing. It's invigorating to watch the boats go by and feel the breeze. The Boston skyline in the distance makes for a majestic backdrop.

My walk then turns in towards Kendall Square and takes me back home.

I love this 7,000 step journey that takes just over an hour.

I start and finish my walk without inputs - just me alone with the moment.

In the middle of my journey, I like to listen to a podcast. With my iPhone in my pocket and a single AirPod in one ear, this is easy and enjoyable. Lately, I have been enjoying episodes of Donald Miller's Business Made Simple.

I am not sure our lives will ever be the same again. That being said, I am intending to hold onto the habit of walking each day. It is a habit I am happy to have formed.
